A Tribute to Kiwi: The Heart Behind "Some-Bunny To Love"
Today is an incredibly special release day here at Plookiss. Alongside the new wrapping paper range, I’ve just launched a brand new botanical print: the "Some-Bunny To Love" bunny ear cactus. While my digital art usually focuses on the quiet, structured beauty of succulents and desert plants, this particular illustration holds a much deeper, entirely personal meaning.
For 14 wonderful years
I shared my life with an incredible rabbit named Kiwi Bunny. He was, quite simply, my everything. Anyone who has ever loved a pet knows that they don't just occupy a physical space in your home; they take up permanent residence in your heart. I miss him terribly, and lately, I’ve been looking for a way to channel all of that lingering love into my studio work.
Perfect Bridge between art and memory
The bunny ear cactus felt like the perfect bridge between my minimalist botanical style and Kiwi’s memory. As I sat at my desk mapping out the vector curves and layers in Affinity, bringing those distinct, playful cactus pads to life, the process turned into a quiet homage to my old friend. The plant naturally carries a sense of joy, softness, and character—exactly what Kiwi brought into my life for over a decade.

Dedicating this new design to him is my way of keeping his memory blooming. Whether you’re hanging the new print on your wall or wrapping a gift for a loved one in the new patterned paper, I hope a little bit of the warmth and happiness Kiwi gave to me translates into your space. He truly was the best companion I could have ever asked for, and I am so proud to share this tribute to him with all of you.
