Meet the Studio Interns
If you’ve seen the latest short-form videos on our social media, you’ll already be familiar with the hardest-working members of the Plookiss team: the studio interns.
These aren't your typical assistants—they are my real-life windowsill cacti who have taken on a life of their own! While they serve as the live botanical references for my digital art, they also double as the star actors in our recurring stop-motion video campaigns.
Bringing the Plants to Life
Creating stop-motion animation is a labor of love that requires patience and a good sense of humor. The idea to personify the desk plants started as a bit of studio fun and quickly evolved into a full sequential video series.
From filming the tiny cacti "walking" across the desk to carefully crafting their very own laminated studio ID badges, every video is designed to bring the playful, character-driven essence of the Plookiss brand into the real world.
The Editing Process
Behind every few seconds of stop-motion magic is a meticulous editing process. After capturing dozens of individual photos to create the illusion of movement, the clips are brought into editing software. Here, the timeline frame rates are carefully adjusted to ensure the interns' movements look smooth and natural, transforming static desk plants into lively characters with big personalities.
